FAQs
1. I have just been injured what should I do next?
Firstly seek any medical treatment you feel you need from your A+E department or GP.
Make sure that your accident is documented in an accident book. To have the incident recorded speak to a Supervisor, Manager or any member of staff. By law every institute, shop, office and place of work or education must have an accident book.
If there are any witnesses then take a note of their name and contact details so that they can provide supporting evidence at a later date if needed.
2. Am I entitled to claim?
Have you been injured in the last three years and it was not your fault?
OR
Have you been injured before you were 18 years old, you are now aged 21 and you have not claimed yet?
If the answer is "YES" to either of these then you can claim. How much depends on your injuries. The more severe, the more long lasting or even permanent then the more you are likely to be entitled to.
3. I was a passenger in a car that was involved in an accident. Can I claim?
YES. Provided this happened in the last three years you can claim for this as can all the passengers who were involved; you don't have to be the driver to claim.
4. I was injured in an accident when I was at school. Can I claim?
YES. As long as you start the claim before your 21st birthday and again, the accident was not your fault.
5. Are there any costs to claiming?
NO. Even calling us is free from landlines. Your case will be handled by a specialist solicitor who will not charge you anything. If the case is won or settles before hand then the solicitors costs are paid for by the other party.
6. I am under 18. Can I claim?
NO. You have to be 18 years old to claim but your parents can claim on your behalf now or we can contact you again when you are 18 and you can bring the claim yourself.
If you're not sure then contact us with the details and we will advise you.
